The Horse Cure The Power of Partnering with Horses for Working Through Trauma and Attachment Issues

AJ Morey is a retired English professor and administrator who lives in Timberville, VA, and she has always loved horses. AJ’s previous books are about the American dream, religion and sexuality, shaken baby syndrome, and vintage photographs of people and their dogs, as well as numerous academic articles on women’s literature and religion and literature. After chemotherapy 15 years ago, she found herself avoiding reading but completely fascinated by pictures. Rather than fighting this brain change, she picked up a camera and established Free Spirit Photography LLC in 2016, and she specializes in photographing equine-human interactions…and anything else that grabs her attention. Her photographs have appeared in regional and juried exhibitions, and The Horse Cure is her inaugural photograph publication. AJ’s first horse-love was an Appaloosa mare named Sophie who lived a hearty 35 years. Now she rides and communes with her American Quarter horse, Topaz, as often as possible. Her bucket list includes adopting a mustang and photographing some of the wild horses of the far west. Her family is certain she will perish by horse and she certainly hope so, preferably while cantering across an open field.
