Michelle has been in the field of Equine Assisted Therapies as a certified professional since 2000, and a lifelong equestrian from a young age. After a life threatening illness in her early teens, she was left forever changed. The trauma to her brain ripped her of control of her body, wiped her sense of self, and left her retreating from life. She didn’t trust humans, but she would trust a horse. Horses gave her a safe place to discover all the pieces of self – body, mind, and spirit–that she thought she had lost. Through their support Michelle was willing to embark on the journey of self-healing and transformation.

Since then, Michelle has been dedicated to creating supportive environments for all beings to find their path to connect to their true self – humans and horses. She founded Unbridled Change in 2008, a non-profit organization who’s mission is to provide hope, healing, and growth to those in need.  In 2018, she co-created a training course for teaching other professionals in the field called Equine Partnered Psychotherapy and CoachingTM.  The course is designed to fuse together the leading therapy models and relationship skills to address the whole being – mind, body, and spirit. She pulls on her experience of over 20 years of training with a number of organizations in the field including: EAGALA, PATH, and Natural Lifemanship. One of her core values is to always be learning and deepening her own growth so she can have more tools in the toolbox to serve others; this included certifications in Mindfulness and Life Coaching, she’s a Reiki Master, and studies/training in Trauma, PTS, PTG, and attachment work.

In 2019, Michelle wrote down a few of the stories of how horses can help us regain hope in her #1 new release book, The Horse Cure – True Stories, Remarkable Horses Bringing Miraculous Change to Humankind, published by Trafalgar Square Books.
