During Rebecca Bailey’s, PhD, presentation listeners will have the opportunity to explore understanding the application of polyvagal to equine assisted therapy.  She will also share how to identify behavioral signs of neuroception and co regulation. Dr. Bailey is a clinical psychologist in California. She has been involved in the field of animal assisted therapy since 1989. Although she has applied equine assisted interventions to a variety of populations she became best known through her work with recovered abductions.

In 2006 she developed a venue incorporating premises of the polyvagal theory into the treatment of families and individuals recalibrating after post traumatic experiences.

Dr. Bailey has been a guest and commentator on Anderson Cooper, Good Morning America, Piers Morgan, Erin Burnett, Kyra Phillips, 20/20, Dr. Oz, Diane Sawyer and World News Tonight. Dr. Bailey is co-author of the book Safe Kids, Smart Parents (Simon & Schuster, 2013). Dr. Bailey presents widely throughout the country on a variety of topics, including the premise of creating “Protected Spaces” for survivors of traumatic crimes and the importance of active collaboration among involved systems.

Dr. Bailey is an advisor for the JAYC Foundation and is clinical director for their programs.

She lives in Northern California with her husband 5 horses, dog, cat and two highly connected chickens.
